Best Way To Plan Your Journey
In a year, we plan many holidays at work, with friends and with family but all these plans seldom come to completion because of the busy lives we live. However, when we actually successfully plan and go on a holiday it is supposed to be a special time for us, and whatever time we have taken off from work should be spent enjoying the holiday we’re on rather ruined because of no planning done prior to leaving for our holiday.
Planning should be done when and where you should visit your favorite places and again you don’t want your experience to be ruined just because you couldn’t make it to the place you wanted to go to in time. Managing time when you are on a holiday is the hardest thing to do, because there is never enough time when you’re on vacation and you have to cram the destinations you want to visit in very little time you have.
Planning also means sorting out your means of transportation you need to take to visit the destinations you want to see, and booking an airport taxi will help you never run late. Once you book your airport transfer service for you to pick you up from the airport you can use it to take you to other places as well.
Airport transfer services should be booked in advance for a smooth outcome and to ensure that your driver is right on schedule.
One of the services airport transfers provide is knowledgeable drivers who know their way about, and they will ensure that you have an amazing time, not matter how short! If you’re traveling with a large family you can accommodate all of them on your travels by ordering a fleet of cars which are a great combination of style and comfort.
Airport transfer services usually have an array of vehicles which can fulfil whatever transportation needs you have on your holidays, be it travelling in groups or travelling solo. This, however, depends on how you have planned your journey. You need to figure out which type of vehicle you need.
This is the best first step you can take while planning your journey, secondly you need to be sure of what time you will arrive on your destination, which we ultimately help the airport transfer service that you have booked.
This allows the airport transfer service to perfectly plan your journey for you and even make you a few suggestions on your tour to save time and maximize the time you need to enjoy the sights and sounds of your holiday.
These preparation steps will help you a lot in the end, and help you to not waste time. Plan your journey now and use these steps to enjoy your holiday to the fullest.

This is another elopement we have shot. The bride and groom have not told anyone about their wedding except their two best friends (their witnesses). This lovely British couple was getting married in the Cambridge Register Office, accompanied by their two friends, and the best man's girlfriend. The town hall looked classic and elegant. We were with them for roughly 3 hours only, but we had so much fun. This friendly couple has organised a lot of activities, including punting, champagne showers with old classic car trips. Not to mention how nice it was viewing the whole Cambridge town Castle Hill. http://www.thesnapshotcafe.com/ https://www.facebook.com/TheSnapshotCafeweddingphotographervideographer/ We also enjoyed punting with the couple a lot. Luckily we had someone experienced as a punter. We took beautiful pictures while sailing along the River Cam. On the boat, we took some shots with the couple and old fancy English famous landmarks - the colleges. The driver of the classic car is a knowledgeable tour guide. We have learnt so much about Cambridge. What a wonderful history lesson! Lastly, we came back to the riverside to say goodbye to our lovely couple and friends. It was so good to meet them. And celebrating all these precious moments with them is our honour. Keep an eye on our Facebook, Vimeo pages and our website for their engagement and wedding photos and videos. Crafty Fox Marathon, Downslink Ultra and Pacing a Pal…..
Well, I’ve been shit at this, haven’t I? I’ve just had loads on and so have totally not had time to do the writing thing that I love doing the most. I have, however, been doing a fair bit of running. September saw the inaugural Crafty Fox marathon - a classic White Star marathon ish in the lovely village of Ansty. For reasons known to nobody apart from myself, I decided to wear a fox tail. Calm down everyone, it’s not a real one. I left that at home. This was 2 loops of a beautiful working farm, with cows and views and posh schools and loads of lovely runners.
TAIL!
It was my first marathon in a couple of weeks, and my training had been less than satisfactory. At this point in the year, I’m just trying to keep things ticking over rather than win stuff or beat my PB’s or even do anywhere near ‘well’. My “A “races have been done, and I have achieved what I set out - there’s just the small matter of 3 weeks of running across deserts and jungles in November to deal with, so ultimately I need to keep fit for what will be day after day of ‘challenging’ endurance running.
HILL!
I turned up with about 30 miles in two weeks under my belt, telling myself it was “only” a marathon (epic mistake). I also didn’t pack anything substantial to eat because, again, I just thought it’s “only” a marathon. I am a twat. As is the way with White Star races, this was not flat. I was running with Julius, who was taking it easy as he had the half marathon the next day (where I was marshalling) so we set off, almost immediately walking up a massive hill. The course was lovely - farmland tracks, mega up hills and cows trotting next to us. The downs were as steep as the ups and, after about 6 miles, I started to get hungry. The aid stations had the usual mix of WSR stuff, but I really needed a sandwich and I didn’t have one. The fact that I was hungry, basically meant my run was a slog. It took away from the beauty of it - all I could think about was food. As it was a test race, the usual Love Station was less full than it would have otherwise been, which led this vegetarian to eat 71 mini sausages on the first loop. Sorry everyone, but a girls gotta eat. If I am honest, I hated that second loop, but it is my fault entirely. Food is important.
Another hill.......
Not a cult......
This is a beauty of a race - as long as you’re not starving. The race village felt like a party zone - so many great faces and the brilliant Piddle Brewery delivering the goods on the booze front. The medal is awesome too. Would I do it again? 100%. Will I make sure to eat and get a bit more training in? Yes. As I said, I am a tail-wearing twat.
MEDALZ
After a month off events with weddings and other stupid normal human stuff in the way, it was time for the Downslink Ultra. This is an event run by Jason McCardle - A Do-Badder and all round good egg. A race director who is also an endurance runner is a good thing - they know what’s what. I had been promising him for ages I would do a Sussex Trail Event, and had to this point failed, so I was really looking forward to this. It’s basically 38 miles down a disused railway track, running from Guildford to Shoreham-On-Sea. It’s flat - I LIKE FLAT! And I totally loved it.
Start line pose.....
The wonderful Lorna Spayne (Head of Bailey Crew OBE) picked me up in the morning, and drove me to the start, and then went off on marshalling duties. She’s so brilliant. I love her. The run is point to point, so Julius had parked his car at the end and got a bus up to meet me at the start. Clever ain’t we?
Dream team....
Navigation is simple - follow the signs. The route is packed trail, with some stunning trots through forest and old tunnels. Although it’s a long, straight line, it never gets boring to look at - the weather was AMAZING - we lucked out with one of those cold, sunny autumn days, but once again my lack of midweek running was showing, and at times I found it a struggle. The start was at the top of a hill (approved) where we all whizzed down sandy trails and across very quiet roads to reach the first aid station at around 6 miles.
I mean..........
Dat Autumn sun filter....
At the second aid station, I bumped into Jay and mentioned how lucky we were with the weather - the day before had been appauling. “I know” he said “I ran it yesterday to check the route”. That’s what you want - and RD that does that is a keeper, and believe me a lot of them don’t!
Aid stations were stocked with stuff for everyone - props on the vegan bites Jay! - and with super lovely marshals. I can only compare this to White Star for it’s organisation and support. You can tell Jay is a runner - he knows what runners want to eat for a start. The other runners were great and happy to chat as we clattered along - no Salomon men here (well a few but I didn’t see them because SLOW). Once again, Julius ran with me - I am trying to train him to run slower for the longer races we have booked in next year - not easy. He reminds me of my dog. I have to shout “WITH ME” every 5 mins when he tries to run off. I don't have a lead for him though. Not that sort of party.
Welcome to the jungle....
A train......
This is a race for people that like to be sociable. Of course, it’s a great course for a PB - it’s flat and trail - nothing stopping you smashing it out - but it’s also very social, with wide paths and loads of space. It would be great for groups of people wanting to take on their first Ultra, as the cut offs are pretty decent and you don't have to run in single file at any point. I think if I had been on my own I would have got bored at points, but the autumn light was so brilliant and the changing scenery also made it seem less like a never ending railway track.
Countryside......
It’s alright this.......
We went through fields, trails and small towns, under tunnels and through bits of ‘british jungle’. The main aid station is right next to a pub, and holy shit was it epic. Everything from sandwiches and mini wraps to cheese and pineapple on sticks to melon. This time, I had been sensible, and packed sandwiches and snacks and nuts, but I didn’t need too. There was even coffee! I was so happy I gave Jay a cuddle and 11 out of 10 for aid station glory. He just looked at me, confused.
Pro running shot courtesy of Lorna!
After this point it started to get a teeny bit more industrial on the run into Shoreham - not the worst end to a race I have ever experienced (Newcastle anyone?) Head of Crew Lorna met us about 2 miles from the end and ran us in. I was pretty happy with 7.14 on the back of no events the previous month and the chilli at the end was delicious, as were the showers. Sussex Trail Events know how to put on a good value, fun and achievable event. It’s safe, beautiful and genuinely a runners race. Jay understands what we want and need, and there’s nothing more to it. I am now eyeing up pretty much everything else he has on offer for next year - go and have a look for yourselves here.
The following week I had the pleasure of being asked to pace my good friend Dan at his first 100 miler - the Autumn 100. As many of you know, this was my first 100 mile event this time last year and I was over the moon to be asked to help Dan out from the 50-75 mile mark. I know what a huge deal your first 100 mile race is and I know how important those pacers can be, so I was both scared I would fuck it up, and thrilled that I got to be part of his story.
Dan looking better before I got to him......
The Ridgeway is leg 3 of a 4 leg race. It’s 50 miles in to the A100. Usually runners run it in the dark - and it is DARK up there - no light at all. I worked on a pace plan with Dan in the weeks before, giving him an A, B and C plan so he wouldn’t feel he was failing at any point. I worked out that to be on course for a sub 24 hour time, he should be with me at Goring at 8pm and ready to go at 8.10. If we could do this 25 mile leg in 6 hours, he would be on for that sub 24 with 7 hours for the final leg (always keep an hour for aid station faff and procrastinating).
I got to Goring at 7pm (just in case) and had been watching his tracker like a hawk all day - he looked like he was on target. Sadly, in the last part of the second leg, he slowed slightly and came into Goring 40 mins later than planned, which means we didn’t leave until 8.50. I would have to try and get him through this leg slightly faster than planned and let his next pacer Kieran know that he was going to have to think more 6 hours than 7 for leg 4.
Being a pacer is frought with difficulties. I know Dan quite well and I love him, we have run together before a lot - he came and ran with me on the Thames Path for 40 odd miles - but working out how far you can push a person is hard. I didn’t want to piss him off, but I had a job to do. We weren’t allowed to crew the runners - that means you can’t touch them, help them get changed or get them food and drink. They have to do it themselves or get a centurion member of staff to do it - that is massively frustrating. I got him out of the hall as soon as I could, and we started walking at 14 min miles up the hill towards the ridgeway. I explained we were late setting out, and we would have to do some running. Dan did not look impressed. He has already run 50 miles. I was fresh out the box.
Halfway through the night shift.....
I was so worried about time and I tried to make Dan run as much as possible, but it was hard. When we walked, we walked at 13-14 min miles and I made him run down most of the hills. I could see him flagging. That far away look you get in your eyes - he had it. I kept on trying to be helpful. You need to be able to read when it’s ok to chat and when you should shut up. I pushed him to run as much as possible, and tried to get him to eat more. He wasn’t eating or drinking enough - I know exactly how he felt - but I also know you have to keep shovelling it down. The second half of the leg featured our best friend the “hammering side rain”. We were cold and wet - I ALWAYS run through this weather - to get out of it quicker - but Dan was only managing 2 mins running and then 5 - 10 mins walking. I texted ahead to tell Kieran to get ready to smash the next leg out in 6.30 rather than 7.
As we came to the end of my leg I did a bit of home truth chat. I told him he could do it in sub 24 IF he could manage to do a 6.30 on the last leg. I told him about how you feel towards the end, and I hope that I helped him and didn’t scare him. We got in to the hall at 6.06 for my leg. Kieran was waiting, got him fed and changed as quickly as possible and got him out. When I saw him in the light of the hall I felt terrible I hadn’t fed him more. He was flagging. He had been running for almost 17 hours and he was half the Dan he usually was. I gave him a cuddle and went to get in the car home. It was 3.30am. Dan had over 7 hours more running to do.
The last leg was appalling for Dan - the weather was awful and his feet were playing up very badly. Despite this, he managed to get back in just over 25 hours - which is a fucking epic time for a first 100. I was lucky on mine - I didn’t have that driving rain and wind. With it, it would have been a very different story. Dan has achieved what 99% of people can’t, and for that I am immensely proud. I loved pacing him and being part of his journey and I learnt a lot from it. Huge thanks to Kieran for bringing him home in one piece. And thanks Dan for allowing me to annoy you for 6 hours.
So that’s where we are at! Next up for me is the Thames Path “Trot” - 50 miles of Thames Path - because we all know how much I love the Thames Path right? (Kill me now) Then I am off to New York for the marathon. And then Namibia and Panama. Jesus christ, will this hell never end? (I hope not…..)

Wife who spent years in jail for beating her husband to death free
A woman who killed her husband in a hammer attack has walked free from prison on bail after her murder conviction was quashed on appeal.
Georgina Challen, known as Sally, was jailed for life for the murder of her 61-year-old husband Richard Challen in 2011.
But her conviction was quashed on appeal earlier this year after judges heard allegations she had been a victim of ‘coercive control’ and that she had been suffering from undiagnosed mental disorders that were never mentioned at her original trial.
Sally Challen, who was previously convicted of murdering her husband Richard, will be freed on bail tomorrow ahead of a retrial this summer
Her son David revealed his mother had been released from HMP Bronzefield in Ashford, Surrey on bail on Friday evening after he received a tweet of support from Spice Girl Mel B.
The singer tweeted ‘I’m soooo happy for your family’ in response to the news Challen had been granted bail.
Mr Challen replied: ‘Thanks Mel! We just picked her up! She’s in the car with me right now!!!’
Challen’s son David revealed his mother had been released from HMP Bronzefield in Ashford, Surrey on bail this evening after he received a tweet of support from Spice Girl Mel B
He said ‘Thanks Mel! We just picked her up! She’s in the car with me right now!!!’ in response
Challen, who admitted killing her husband but always denied murder, had asked the appeal judges to downgrade her conviction to manslaughter, which would have led to her freedom.
The court instead ordered a retrial for murder, but a judge granted her bail on Friday ahead of the new court case this summer.
Challen, who appeared in court via a videolink from prison, wept as the judge granted her bail.
Challen’s son David, pictured outside court today, has supported her throughout the case. Speaking after his mother was granted bail, he said he can’t wait to see her freed tomorrow
Speaking outside court, her son David said: ‘Today we are overjoyed that bail has been granted for our mother and she will be now released back to us. Our mother now rejoins our family.
Asked what it will be like when she walks out of prison on Saturday, he said: ‘It’s a massive moment.’
He added: ‘It’s a happy day for us, we get to see her again.’
Mr Challen, who said he had not yet spoken to his mother following the hearing, said the family is looking forward to ‘being together again after so long’.
The defendant’s brother Chris Jenney said: ‘The family are all supporting Sally. We have done from day one. Our strength’s built and will build even further. This is a fantastic day for us.’
Earlier at today’s hearing, the 65-year-old, of Claygate, Surrey, pleaded guilty to her husband’s manslaughter but not guilty to murder.
Challen (pictured with her husband) has served eight years in jail following her now-quashed murder conviction. She faces a retrial for the charge later this year
Challen, who has now been in jail for eight years, was freed from HMP Bronzefield in Ashford, Surrey on Friday evening
She was previously jailed for life for the murder of the former car dealer following a trial at Guildford Crown Court in 2011.
But her conviction was quashed and a retrial ordered at the Court of Appeal in London in February, in light of new evidence relating to Challen’s state of mind at the time of the killing and the issue of ‘coercive control’.
Sally Challen’s case
August 2010: Sally Challen kills husband Richard.
June 2011: She is convicted of murder and is jailed for 22 years a month later.
November 2011: Challen’s sentence is reduced to 18 years on appeal.
December 2015: Coercive control is established in UK law, making it an offence to make someone feel controlled, dependent, isolated or scared. It can also be used as legal defence in domestic abuse cases.
March 2018: Lawyers for Challen win the right to appeal her conviction.
February 2019: Challen wins her case at the Court of Appeal and a retrial is ordered.
April 2019: She is granted bail while awaiting a retrial.
Quashing the original murder conviction, Lady Justice Hallett said: ‘The Court of Appeal heard that in the opinion of a consultant forensic psychiatrist the appellant suffered from two mental disorders at the time of the killing.
‘This evidence was not available at the time of the trial.’
Appearing before the Old Bailey by video-link this morning, Challen spoke to confirm her identity and enter her pleas.
She was seen wearing a black blouse in the video room at her prison. She wept during the hearing and wiped away tears as Mr Justice Edis considered an application for conditional bail.
The judge granted Challen conditional bail following an application by defence lawyer Clare Wade QC.
She will have to report to a police station twice a week while awaiting her new trial.
Challen was supported in court by her sons David and James Challen, who became emotional on hearing their mother would be released.
The judge confirmed the trial would be transferred to the Old Bailey as he set a timetable for the case.
Prosecutor Joel Smith pointed out the size of the public gallery in court one, saying it was a better venue ‘given the attention this matter has attracted’.
Challen’s (left on her wedding day) conviction was previously quashed because judges ruled evidence had not been heard in her trial about how she had been suffering from two mental disorders at the time she killed her husband (right)
Mr Justice Edis set a further hearing for June 7, and a trial on July 1 ‘if necessary’.
Mrs Challen had challenged her conviction following the introduction of a new law called coercive control, which came into force in 2015, four years after she was convicted.
What is coercive control and when did it become a new law?
In 2015 it became an offence under UK law to subject someone to ‘coercive control’.
The offence is defined as when someone with a personal connection makes one feel controlled, dependent, isolated or scared and causes a ‘serious effect’.
Examples of such behaviour include isolating a person from friends and family, monitoring a person’s movements, controlling their money, continuous verbal abuse, threats of violence and damaging property.
A serious effect is defined as having substantially impacted a person’s daily life, changing the way they live or causing them to feel threatened by violence.
The offence came into force in December 2015. Although a person who committed coercive control before then cannot be charged with it, it can be used to show bad character and support a general case of abuse.
Experts told the Court of Appeal in February the change in law meant she would only be guilty of manslaughter if tried again.
A panel of judges rejected that argument, but then quashed her conviction based on psychiatric evidence that she was suffering from two mental disorders at the time of the attack.
Coercive control applies to behaviour that threatens, isolates or makes a person dependent through actions such as constant insults, destruction of property and cutting them off from friends and family.
Challen’s sons James, 35, and David, 31, supported her release alongside campaigners from Justice for Women.
Speaking at the appeal hearing in February, Clare Wade, barrister for Challen, said the court would not have considered alleged coercive control at the trial.
She said: ‘Given developments in recent years, and particularly pre 2012,it is something that requires explanation.
Ms Wade told the court that while it was once mentioned by a women’s charity in 2006 it was not referred to prior to 2012 by policy makers.
She said: ‘At the time the appellant was tried this is not something that would have been at the forefront of the minds of those trying her.
Challen, pictured with one of her sons as a child, should have been afforded more legal protection at her original trial, according to her family
Challen, pictured in a court sketch at the appeal hearing in February, wept as the judge granted her bail today
‘It is difficult to decide if someone has been a victim of coercive control and in a trial the jury would need to be given evidence.’
Lady Justice Hallett said at the same hearing: ‘There might be those out there who think this is appeal is all about coercive control but it’s not.
‘Primarily, it’s about diagnosis of disorders that were undiagnosed at the time of the trial.’
The Court of Appeal hearing heard evidence from several psychology experts who said coercive control can leave a person feeling trapped and feeling like a ‘prisoner of war’.
It was also suggested she had been inspired to launch the appeal after hearing characters on BBC radio show The Archers go through a similiar experience.
The storyline in 2016 in the Radio 4 soap followed Helen Archer after she stabbed husband Rob when he repeatedly used tactics to make her doubt her own sense of reality.
Before the appeal hearing, son David appeared on Good Morning Britain and said society had let his mother down.
After the ruling, David added: ‘It’s an amazing moment. The courts have decided that this case needs to be looked at again, as we have always said [it should be] as a family.’
Son David, pictured left outside court at an earlier hearing, has previously appeared on Good Morning Britain, right, to discuss the campaign to free his mother

10 Questions - Bruce Guthrie
[4 minute read]
Bruce Guthrie is a Director from Scotland now based in London. He recently directed the 20th-anniversary production of Jonathan Larson’s award-winning musical RENT. Currently, Guthrie is directing Man to Man which shows at the Traverse from Wed 11 – Sat 14 Oct before heading to New York for a sold-out run at BAM Theatre.
Here, he shares the resources he finds particularly useful as a theatre-maker and also tells us how this production differs from the original Traverse Theatre Company production 30 years ago.
Man to Man tells the story of Ella; a woman forced to adopt the identity of her dead husband in order to survive in Nazi Germany.
(Image by Polly Thomas: Maggie Bain in Man to Man)
1. What initially drew you to directing Man to Man?
I read about the play in a book about directing by Stephen Unwin, who had directed the original production starring Tilda Swinton in 1987 at the Traverse. I was curious about the story of a woman taking on her husband’s identity and living her life as him.
Maggie Bain and I are both big fans of Tilda and her work so I got a copy of the script - I read it in one sitting. While I didn’t fully understand it on the first read I knew it was brilliant. The story is so compelling and covers such a wide range of interesting topics and situations that it felt like several different plays in one, which is a wonderful opportunity for any creative team.
I am drawn creatively to expressionistic visuals. Creating images to which the audience has an emotional response and help to tell the story in an emotional and beautiful way. I love German cinema and fairy tales. They are wonderfully inventive, physical and dark. Man to Man provides an opportunity to create a world where those attributes can be used.
2. What three words would you use to describe the piece?
Beautiful. Robust. Dark.
3. How does this production differ from the Traverse Theatre Company original production 30 years ago?
I’m afraid I didn’t see the original production, but I have seen some photos and talked to Stephen Unwin about his production. The great thing about the play is there are no stage directions so each production can be entirely unique.
The main difference is that this is a new translation by George Divine winning playwright Alexandra Wood. Wales Millennium Centre commissioned the piece as part of the Women of the World Festival and so having a female playwright tackle this project seemed like a good idea. I think Alex has done an outstanding job with the translation. It feels fresh and alien. It has sharp edges to the poetry and jars in just the right way.
Also, we use projection and sound in our version. Projection wasn’t being used in theatre 30 years ago and sound wasn’t as common as it is now. I have different tools to tell the story.
(Image: Tilda Swinton in the original production of Man to Man)
4. What are your favourite Edinburgh haunts?
There are so many! The Traverse itself is a great place to hang out - fantastic theatre and great spaces. It is a huge thrill for me to have a play at the Traverse. It is such a legendary venue of world theatre. The bar at the Traverse is a hotspot of the Edinburgh festival but has great events and atmosphere all the year round.
I also enjoy the Scottish National Gallery and getting a roll and sausage from BBL (Breakfast Brunch and Lunch). If truth be told, their vegetarian square sausage is the best square sausage I have ever tasted!
5. What has been your most memorable theatre experience – either as a member of the audience or as part of the creative team?
As an audience member, I have had several incredible experiences. An appropriate highlight was seeing Black Watch when it was playing in New York City at St Anne’s Warehouse in 2008. One of my best friends was playing in it and it was my first trip to New York. It is a stunning piece of theatre.
As a creative team on one of my own shows I have to say Man to Man. It has been such an incredibly collaborative experience. Working with my co-director Scott Graham (Artistic Director of Frantic Assembly) on this stunning play with a creative team full of Olivier and Tony award winners who have all brought out the best in each other has been wonderful. In the centre of the whole thing is a stunning performance from Maggie Bain. She is the heart and soul of the whole piece. The fact we will play the Traverse and then go on to a sold-out run in New York City at the Brooklyn Academy of Music is a highlight of my career.

6. What has been your favourite part of the rehearsal process?
All of it. From the research and preparation to being in a rehearsal room to the technical rehearsal to previews. Every day has brought its own challenges and those are wonderful. Being able to sit in a rehearsal room with a brilliant group of creative minds and explore an interesting play is my idea of heaven. The technical rehearsal was intense but brilliant too. Having an idea and working with a team that is good enough to make that idea work almost instantly is wonderfully satisfying.
7. Without giving anything away, what’s your favourite line from the show?
‘Must have to have such large pots.’ It always makes me laugh.
8. Can you tell us about the first play you ever worked on?
The very first play I worked on was as an actor at High School. I went to Lornshill Academy and played the role of Old Man Carns in OKLAHOMA! It was my first time in a proper theatre with lights and an orchestra. I was 11 years old.
The first show I directed was Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me by Frank McGuinness. I was in my final year at drama school when my housemate gave me the play and asked if I would direct it. It’s an incredible play about three men held hostage in Lebanon in the 1980’s. They have to keep each other's spirits up to prevent them all from going mad. Or losing hope. I thought that if I was going to do it, I would want to bring the production to Edinburgh. We played for three performances in Guildford before heading up to the Festival in 2004 to play in the studio space of The Gateway Theatre down by the Playhouse. Sadly it’s now a block of flats. The production made money and we put it on in London for a special performance following our run in Edinburgh. I learned so much doing that show because I directed and produced it. The actors and I stayed with my parents and commuted to Edinburgh every day. It is only 30 mins in the car so wasn’t too bad at all!

9. What advice would you give to emerging theatre-makers?
Surround yourself with smart and talented people and make work. Don’t just talk about it. So many incredible ideas have existed over coffee or drinks and then disappeared. You learn from doing so get on with doing it.
Go and see as much theatre as you can. The best quality possible. But also be interested in everything. The more you know, the more you will have to draw upon creatively. I try to spend time in museums, exhibitions, art galleries as well as watching movies and reading scripts. Travel too. Go to a country you’ve never been to once a year and do at least one thing that you can only do in that country.
10. Are there any websites, books or other resources that you find particularly useful as a theatre maker?
Curtain Call is a great new website. It is the IMDB of theatre with superb photography.
What’s on Stage is a great hub of theatre news
The Stage website is worth subscribing to for great articles and reviews
The National Theatre’s website is great because of all the resources you can access
Digital Theatre.com is good for filmed versions of top class shows
The Royal Shakespeare Company’s website is also very good
For young directors, the Young Vic Genesis network is good to join.
But of course, there is the Traverse website for news and great new work going on in Scotland.

Pros And Cons Of Airport Transfers Services And Car Rentals
Deciding on your next holiday and then booking the flight to that place is easier compared to figuring how you are going to get to your destination when you land at the airport. Public transport is what comes to mind, but it’s not always the convenient solution because of the strict schedules, especially when you have no idea regarding the fixed drop off points.
With public transportation out of the way, it usually comes down to hiring a car for yourself or booking an airport transfers. They also have their pros and cons, so let’s discuss which one fares better.
We start with car hire and the definite advantage it has is that you can pick your own route and make as many stops as you want during your journey. In addition to that flexibility, you have the luxury to keep the car with you for the entirety of your visit, and that gives you the opportunity to explore the area you are visiting thoroughly.
However, all of this can be very pricey and the cost of your hire can alarmingly go up compared to the price that you see on the car hire’s company website. If you have extra equipment for your holiday, then you would obviously need a bigger car, which will again add up to the cost of your hire.
You also have to remember that fuel will be on you and motorway and other miscellaneous costs will be on top of your original car hire cost.
On the other hand, by booking an airport transfers services, you know the exact cost of your journey. You can always start off your holiday with one less worry, by paying the airport transfer service cost upfront.
You will have a driver to pick you up from the airport when you land, and without any delays you can set off on your journey. This beats queuing up at car hire desks and walking up to the car rental service with all of your luggage.
The best thing about airport transfer service is that your driver will be experienced and can advise you on which route to take and they also know the roads and can easily avoid rush hour or heavy traffic areas to get to your destination right on time.
Airport transfer Service Company can also advise you on the best pick up times for your flights so you don’t have to wait around.
